Gen. John W. Sprague Camp No. 4 of Tacoma, WA
With a date of rank of January 7, 2024, this camp serves the 10 counties of Southwestern Washington: Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, Skamania, Thurston, & Wahkiakum. The Original Gen John W. Sprague Camp No. 4, Sons of Veterans of the United States of America (today Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War) was chartered on February 15, 1890 in Tacoma, Washington.
Gen. John W. Sprague Camp is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Our camp is named in honor of John Wilson Sprague, Medal of Honor recipient, first Mayor of Tacoma, and brigadier general. To learn more about our camp namesake, click here.

Thomas Post No. 5 Olympia and complete field work to determine monuments condition. Locate 58 known Union Civil War Veterans buried in the cemetery. Assess, photograph and determine GPS Coordinates of headstones. Walk cemetery to determine if there are additional Union Civil War Veterans buried in the Cemetery.
